Life Event - Special Enrollment:

Q: What is a life event?
A: Life events are certain occurrences that will allow you to enroll your dependent(s) without waiting until the Fund's next Open Enrollment:

Other Insurance:
If you declined enrollment for your dependent(s) (including your spouse) because of other insurance coverage, you may enroll your dependent(s) in the Health Fund, without waiting until the Funds next Open Enrollment, provided that you request enrollment (including submission of a completed Dependent Enrollment Form) within 30-days after the "life event" occurs (in this example the life event is the coverage ending).

New Dependent(s):
If you have a new dependent as a result of marriage, birth, adoption, placement for adoption, or guardianship, you may enroll your dependent(s) in the Health Fund, without waiting until the next Open Enrollment, provided that you request enrollment (including submission of a completed Dependent Enrollment Form and all required documentation within 30 days after the "life event" occurs (in this example the life event is the marriage, birth, adoption, placement for adoption or guardianship).
